Fresh look

We've been moving workshops and home recently and it got us thinking, it's amazing the things we collect and hold onto that we never really liked in the first place. The things that we were only going to use for a month or two, but now years on and it still sits there unused, ugly or broken. We make do, but never fully enjoy what could be in its place.

As we moved we were ruthless in our de-cluttering, refusing to take things with us 'just because'. And now, in our new home and workshop we're not rushing, making such each piece we find/buy is something we absolutely love. We've decided we'd rather make an investment into something we will cherish and enjoy, than just fill our home with 'stuff' that takes up space. Conceptually this way should be more costly, but in actual fact when we are not satisfied with what we have we are far more likely to keep buying until we are happy, thus filling our homes and wardrobes with stuff. By investing in quality we are more likely to love what we have and we are also unlikely to have to buy a replacement after just a few years as quality stands the test of time. 

Geoff is currently making us a new kitchen and walk-in-wardrobe (as apart of a wider new collection which we're looking forward to showing you) and so for now it's living out of boxes as I'm refusing to put anything in our home that we don't want long term.  

So why don't you join us in creating space, finding those pieces you adore and enjoying the serenity of home.

Living the Pinterest Life

Don't let all your dreams live on your Pinterest boards. You may not have all the money in the world, or access to all the resources you need, and you may not have those abs just yet but why can't you take steps toward them.

Do that hairstyle, make time for that work out, add a new statement piece to your wardrobe or home. 

Don't waste any more time living a mundane life, having mundane relationships or living in a mundane home. Just take one step towards that life you want to lead and the person you want to be.

Memories

"Who's been sitting in my Chair?" echoed the cry of my Grandpa's soft and yet thunderous voice. My brother and I would burst into fits of giggles whilst trying to hide behind the big leather armchair, forgetting that playing this game weekly increased the likelihood of him finding us. 

Skip ahead to the years of High School, braces and helping my Dad on Bank Holidays. This time he had me sanding down the legs of an old oak table that we were going to paint duck egg blue to match our new home. We still sit at it every time I visit. 

Without realising it many of us have memories centred around furniture. Our hope is to create furniture that will become apart of the positive memories of many. The restaurant table that he proposed at, the childhood wardrobe in which Narnia was reenacted, the architects table upon which plans for a new home were agreed, the memories are endless.

Today let us not miss one opportunity to have some fun and create great memories.
